The original SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) ends on 30 November 2026. On 1 December 2026, a redesigned SFEC (Enhanced) starts, giving eligible employers a fresh S$10,000 in an online wallet that offsets out-of-pocket costs at enrolment. You qualify if, throughout 2025, you employed at least three Singapore Citizens or PRs every month, were not in default on Skills Development Levy and were not inactive on ACRA. At launch it covers workforce programmes only, including SWDA-funded training courses. The funding rate has not been published yet.
Checked against official sources (Enterprise Singapore, SSG/SWDA and MOM) on 18 October 2026. Official sources are linked at the end. We will update this page as SWDA publishes more detail.

What happens to your current SFEC balance
The current credit still works until 30 November 2026, but only for courses that are completed by that date, with claims submitted by then. After that, any remaining balance is lost. It does not roll over into the Enhanced SFEC. If you have a balance and a course in mind, the deadline is close: a course that finishes in December cannot use the old credit.
For training of Singapore Citizens and PRs, there is no separate SFEC claim. The credit is worked out automatically once the base course-fee claim is approved, and it is paid quarterly to the employer's GIRO or PayNow Corporate account. Training for foreign employees is the exception: that SFEC must be claimed separately through SSG's SFEC system by 30 November 2026.
Who qualifies for the Enhanced SFEC
Per SWDA's programme page, an employer qualifies if, during the qualifying period of 1 January to 31 December 2025, it:
- employed at least three Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents every month (salaried, with CPF contributions; business owners on the payroll count);
- was not in default of Skills Development Levy contributions; and
- did not have an inactive ACRA status.
Both SMEs and larger companies can qualify. There is no minimum SDL amount and no spending threshold. There is no application: eligible employers will be emailed before launch and asked to complete a short workforce questionnaire, which unlocks the credit.
For an education business, this usually means a preschool, tuition or enrichment centre with at least three local staff on CPF throughout 2025 is likely to qualify. Chains should check each registered entity: the original credit was per entity (per UEN), so a group with several companies may have several credits, while branches of one company share one.
What the Enhanced SFEC can be used for
At launch, the Enhanced SFEC is workforce-only. The programme page lists three uses, with more to be added:
- the SkillsFuture Workforce Development Grant (Job Redesign+);
- SWDA-funded employer-sponsored training courses; and
- NACE mentorship support projects.
The enterprise-transformation use of the original credit, such as Productivity Solutions Grant software, is not on the launch list. Training providers cannot apply to make a course SFEC-eligible: a course has to already be funded under a government initiative. In practice, if you want your staff trained in something new, such as using AI for observations, parent updates or worksheets, the course needs to come through an approved training provider.
What has not been published yet
As of 18 October 2026, SWDA says more information will be available soon. These points are still open:
- The funding rate. We don't yet know whether the original "up to 90% of out-of-pocket costs" carries over, or whether there are caps per programme.
- How long the credit lasts. The Budget 2025 speech was reported as saying the new credit would last three years, but SWDA's page does not state a validity period.
- The wallet portal. Which portal holds the online wallet has not been confirmed.
- Later qualifying years. Only the 2025 qualifying period has been published.
We would not plan around any figure that is not on an official page yet.
What to do now
- Before 30 November: check your current balance (SkillsFuture for Business portal for training; Business Grants Portal for PSG, EDG and MRA). Use it only on courses that will finish by 30 November.
- Check your 2025 headcount: were there at least three Singapore Citizen or PR employees on CPF in every month of 2025? Was SDL paid on time?
- Make sure your Corppass administrator's email is current, because that is where eligibility notices go. Watch for the notice before 1 December and complete the workforce questionnaire when it arrives.
- Pick training that is SWDA-funded and run by an approved training provider, so it can draw on the credit.
Where Qlabs fits
Qlabs runs a short, hands-on AI course for education businesses: preschools, childcare chains, tuition and enrichment centres. We teach it and set the tools up at your centre with your own templates, so they work when the course ends. It is delivered with an SSG-approved training partner so that eligible employers can offset the fees with the SFEC. See how the training works, or email hello@qlabshq.com for a 15-minute call.

Frequently asked questions
Can I still use my current SFEC balance?
Yes, until 30 November 2026. Training must be completed and claims submitted by that date. Any unused balance is forfeited and does not carry over to the Enhanced SFEC.
Do I need to apply for the Enhanced SFEC?
No. Per SWDA's programme page, eligible employers will be notified by email before launch and must complete a short workforce questionnaire to unlock the credit.
We used the original SFEC. Can we get the new S$10,000 too?
The Enhanced SFEC is described as a fresh S$10,000, and eligibility is based on your 2025 workforce, not on whether you used the original credit. If you meet the 2025 criteria, you appear to be eligible again.
Does the S$750 Skills Development Levy rule still apply?
No. The S$750 SDL minimum only applied to the Budget 2020 cohort and was removed in 2022. The Enhanced SFEC criteria require that you were not in default on SDL during 2025, with no minimum amount.
Can I use the Enhanced SFEC for software such as PSG solutions?
Not at launch. The Enhanced SFEC is for workforce transformation only: WDG (Job Redesign+), SWDA-funded employer-sponsored training courses and NACE mentorship projects. The enterprise-transformation use of the original SFEC (PSG, EDG, MRA) is not on the launch list.
How much of a course fee will the Enhanced SFEC cover?
This has not been published yet. The original SFEC covered up to 90% of out-of-pocket costs. SWDA says more information on the Enhanced SFEC will be available soon.
Can each centre in a preschool or tuition chain get its own credit?
The original SFEC was a one-off S$10,000 per entity, so each separately registered entity (its own UEN) that met the criteria qualified on its own. Centres that are branches of one company share that company's eligibility. Check the email notification each entity receives.
Is AI training for teachers SFEC-claimable?
It can be, if the course is an SWDA-funded employer-sponsored training course run by an approved training provider and the employer is eligible. Qlabs delivers its hands-on AI course with an SSG-approved training partner for this reason.
